Tighter Iran sanctions needed

To the Editor:

With the recent Iranian attempted terror plot on U.S. soil, the Iranian government has directly funded terrorism that would target U.S. civilians. The accused Iranian terrorist, according to the indictment, made it clear that the assassination needed to go forward, despite mass casualties of U.S. civilians. The United States must take unconditional firm action against Iran to stop it from further terrorist activities.

This Iranian government is an immoral and brazen criminal regime that puts the civilized world in danger. The United Nations needs to pass a new round of much tighter sanctions against Iran. Any nation defying existing U.N. sanctions must face severe consequences from the United States and its allies.
