There’s a story circulating that CNN’s Jerusalem bureau has been slashed to only its Palestinian staff.
I’ve asked around. It’s false. At least two longterm Israeli Jewish staffers remain in place. Now CNN confirms it.
Not that it should matter. The major news organizations set the agenda. If you have a problem, it’s with them, not the local hires.
Israeli or Palestinian, Jewish or Arab, if a staffer is not professional he or she will soon see the door.
UPDATE: My last comment was not referring, of course, to the folks CNN did let go. From what I hear, this was strictly cost-cutting. I know some of the folks who were let go, and they’re among the best in the business in Israel.
