JERUSALEM (JTA) — American actress Claire Danes arrived in Israel to film the second season of the popular television series "Homeland."

Danes and co-star Mandy Patinkin both arrived in Israel on Wednesday, and were photographed at their Tel Aviv hotel, according to reports. They are expected to remain in Israel for about two weeks.

After Danes’ first visit to Israel last year to film parts of the first season, she called Tel Aviv the "most intense party town."

"Homeland" tells the story of an American soldier released from captivity in Iraq and a CIA officer played by Danes who suspects him of becoming a spy for al-Qaida. It is based on the Israeli show "Hatufim," or "Prisoners of War."

The second season of "Homeland" is set to premiere on Showtime on Sept. 30.
