JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Israeli army patrol working on the border with Lebanon came under fire.
The patrol, located near Metullah, returned fire, according to reports. No Israeli troops were injured in the exchange on Thursday, which the Israel Defense Forces is investigating.
The shooting could have been hunters on the other side of the border, the IDF said. It came less than a week after an explosive device detonated on the side of the road near the Syrian border in the Golan as an IDF patrol was passing by. The attack, believed to be directed at the patrol, damaged an IDF jeep.
