JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Arab neighborhood in eastern Jerusalem was sprayed with anti-Arab graffiti and the tires of 16 cars were slashed.

Police reportedly have launched an investigation into the Monday morning incident in Ein Ilouza, near Silwan, which is being called a “price tag” attack.

Graffiti read, in part, “Arab labor” and “Enough of assimilation.”

Price tag refers to the strategy adopted by extremist settlers and their supporters generally to exact retribution for settlement freezes and demolitions or Palestinian attacks on Jews.

On Sunday evening a haredi Orthdox man, 24, was stabbed twice by an apparently Arab attacker near the Old City’s Damascus Gate. Police are calling the incident a terrorist attack, according to Israeli media reports.
