JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israeli military bomb sappers detonated a homemade bomb placed at a bus shelter in the northern West Bank.

The device was discovered on Friday morning  neat the Tappuach junction, located near the West Banks city of Ariel and the Palestinian city of Nablus.

It was later determined that the device, an empty can connected to a cell phone, was a fake.

The fake bomb was placed in the same place as a real bomb that went off late last night in what was determined to be a terror attack. No one was injured in that attack. Also this month, two Palestinians were arrested at a checkpoint at the junction for carrying three pipebombs and a weapon.

Other attempted and successful attacks have occurred at the junction in recent months.
