JERUSALEM (JTA) — Palestinian Authority police arrested three Palestinian men who had been reported missing since late last month, saying they had been planning a terror attack against Israelis.
The men were found Saturday near Ramallah in possession of a large cache of weapons, according to Israeli reports. They are reported to be members of Hamas. They were taken for questioning by the PA.
Hamas in a statement condemned the arrests, with its spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri saying they reflect “the PA’s increasing collaboration with the occupation.” The statement also said the “PA and the Israeli occupation forces have recently escalated their joint efforts to curb the Jerusalem intifada and abort Palestinian resistance operations.”
