Differences Between Parties

Thank you for Stewart Ain’s analysis (“Israel Issue Takes On Divisive New Tone,” July 19). President Trump is an unorthodox politician. He uses language that I would never utter. However, I think many Democratic Party leaders and pundits are missing the bigger point.

We have the strongest U.S.-Israel relationship of modern history. President Trump is pointing out the stark differences between two modern-day parties. Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (Queens-Bronx), Ilhan Omar (Minn.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.), and Ayanna Pressley (Mass.) represent progressive views that are harmful to Israel-U.S. relations, Middle East politics, and our larger Jewish community. We cannot tolerate anti-Semitism or anti-Zionism dressed up as progressive politics.

Republicans and Democrats must work together to strengthen our bonds within the Jewish world, Israel and beyond.
