1,220 Czech, Tripoli and German Jewish Immigrants Sail for Israel from Italian Ports

The S.S. Galila and the S.S. Tampa sailed from Italian ports today for Israel carrying 720 and 500 Jewish immigrants, respectively. The former’s passengers come from Czechoslovakia and Tripoli while the 500 immigrants aboard the Tampa are displaced Jews from Germany who boarded the vessel at Marseilles.

Meanwhile, the appointment of Dr. L. Ghinton as the first commercial attache to the Israeli legation here was announced today.
