The Keren Kayemeth (Jewish National Fund), set its 19646-65 budget at more than 52,000,000 Israeli pounds ($17,000,000), Ambassador Yacov Tzur, board chairman of Keren Kayemeth in Jerusalem, noted today. (The JTA Daily News Bulletin of May 21 reported incorrectly, owing to a garbled transmission, that the budget had been voted by the World Zionist Organization’s actions committee).
Ambassador Tzur said 60 percent of the budget, set by the organizations permanent finance and budgetary committee, had been earmarked for afforestation, which will include the planting of 6,000,000 trees in various areas in Israel. Twenty percent of the budget, he said, will be used for debt repayments.
