The Council for German Jewry today announced that £470,000 (about $2,350,000) has been raised by the Jews of Great Britain and other European countries for the project to expatriate 100,000 German Jews within four years. The sum represents almost half of the $5,000,000 quota accepted by British Jewry in the world-wide effort to raise $15,000,000 for the project. American Jews have undertaken to raise the remaining $10,000,000.
Among the contributions announced today are on of £36,790 (about $183,950) by the family of the late Louis S. Cohen of Liverpool and one of £9,000 (about $45,000) by Sir Montague Burton.
