A conference dinner held at the Unity Club, Brooklyn, endorsed the launching of the Ort Credit Corporation, an institution with a working capital of $250,000, for the purpose of rendering financial assistance to Americans who wish to send tools, machinery and raw material to their relatives abroad, so that they may be able to make up productive occupations. Pledges totaling $31,000 were made by those present.
The conference was addressed by Supreme Court Justice Edward Lazansky, Supreme Court Justice Mitchell May. Dr. Henry Moskowitz, Dr. David V. Lvovitch, and Dr. Joseph Rosen. Judge Algernon I. Nora presided.
