3300 to Participate in AZYF Israel Programs; Summer Program Up 25 Percent over 1969

More than 2,800 college and high school students will participate in summer programs sponsored by the American Zionist Youth Foundation this year and together with yearlong projects, all participants in AZYF programs will exceed 3,300. “There is a substantial growth in the number of participants in the summer programs which, in comparison with last year, have increased more than 25 percent,” William Levine, Executive Director of the AZYF, stated. The first contingent will leave for Israel from Kennedy International Airport, New York on June 21. The AZYF programs in Israel are administered by the Youth Hechalutz Department of the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem. Local and regional representatives of the AZYF report tremendous interest in the various programs for college students and high school graduates.
