400 Czech Jews Leave Palestine to Serve with Legion in France

Four hundred Czech Jewish volunteers from Palestine have gone to France to serve in the French Army’s Czechoslovak Legion. This first transport is expected to be followed by others. There are between six and seven thousand Czech Jews in Palestine and they have responded enthusiastically to the call for volunteers. The problem of the volunteers’ families has not yet been settled.
