400 Delegates to Participate in Zionist Rally

Four hundred delegates, representing Zionist districts as far west as Portland, and as far south as New Orleans, will attend the thirty-seventh annual convention of the Zionist Organization of America at Atlantic City beginning Saturday evening, June 30, and lasting through July 3, it was announced at headquarters here yesterday.

Governor A. Harry Moore of New Jersey will be one of the guest speakers at the session on Sunday. Another speaker will be Berl Locker, European Zionist leader. Mr. Locker is a member of the World Zionist Executive and will deliver a report on the political status of the Zionist movement as well as on the economic progress in Palestine.

Morris Rothenberg, president of the Zionist Organization of America, in his presidential report, will present a review of Zionist activities in the United States and Palestine during the past year. He will also project for the consideration of the delegates a program demanding that the Zionist Organization modify the policy it has maintained during the past two decades and undertake participation in strengthening Jewish community activities in this country.


{NOTE}Ludwig Lewisohn will deliver an address on Jewish conditions throughout the world. Dr. Stephen S. Wise will talk on “The Menace of Nazism” and more than a score of other notable American Jewish leaders are included on the speaking program. Louis Lipsky, Abraham Goldberg, Dr. S. Margoshes, Rabbi Louis I. Newman, Maurice Samuel, Israel Chipkin, Robert Szold, Jacob deRaas, Jacob Fishman and others, will speak.{/NOTE}

Felix M. Warburg, national chairman of the United Jewish Appeal, will be another guest speaker at the Sunday session.

Discussions on changes in the Zionist program and a debate on “The Inter-Party Struggle in Zionism,” promise to make the convention one of the most stimulating in many years.
