The situation of the 6,000 Jewish refugees who fled here from rioting in Jaffa and outlying districts caused concern today as money and food became scarce and requests for Government aid evoked no response.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Council said in a statement that a squadron of military airplanes was observing developments in Tel Aviv, Jaffa and elsewhere and encouraged workers to report to work in unexposed places.
Tel Aviv police were instructed to deal vigorously with crowds in the streets, to use force in dispersing them and to fire if necessary.
Arabs fired two buildings and a synagogue in the Nevei Shalom section of Jaffa near the Tel Aviv border.
