The 80th birthday of Jack Weiler, a major figure on the American and world Jewish scene for more than 40 years, will be observed by the Charter Members of the Israel Bond Organization’s Israel President’s Club at a dinner party on Thursday evening, May 31, at the Plaza Hotel.
Max Fisher of Detroit, William Belzberg of Los Angeles, Melvin Swig of San Francisco and Robert Amow of New York are serving as co-chairmen of the birthday committee along with Sam Rothberg; international chairman of Israel Bonds, and David Hermelin, national champaign chairman.
In accepting the position of co-chairman, Fisher pointed to Weiler’s “more than four decades of unequaled leadership in behalf of every important Jewish and Israeli cause,”
