Nine prisoners of the Nazis in the concentration camp at Dachau, Germany, were shot and killed by their guards during the past week, it is reliably learned. A wave of cruelty and punishment of Jewish prisoners is sweeping camps throughout the country.

Non-Jews receive far more lenient treatment, since the Nazis hope to convert them to National Socialism. This, of course, does not apply to the Jews, for whom hope of release seems almost non-existent.

Many non-Jews are being released from the camps on their pledge not to remain in the communities in which they formerly made their homes and not to maintain their old associations. The Nazi press, in reporting these releases, always emphasizes that there are no Jews among them.
