A bill that sought to increase charitable giving, and would have allowed new funding to religious organizations to provide social services, died in the U.S. Congress. During a Senate debate Thursday, Democratic lawmakers tried to add on more amendments to the bill, and ultimately discussion of the Charitable Aid Recovery and Empowerment Act ended without any movement.
