A book was published about the life of an Englishman who rescued hundreds of Czech Jewish children from the Nazis. “Nicholas Winton and the Rescued Generation” was co-written by Vera Gissing, one of 669 child refugees Winton helped to reach sanctuary in Britain just before Germany invaded the former Czechoslovakia in 1939.
