A British lawmaker is leading calls for Iran to be banned from soccer’s World Cup. Chris Heaton-Harris of Britain’s Conservative Party said Wednesday that he plans to make the demand in a letter to FIFA, the soccer league overseeing the World Cup, citing Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s calls for the destruction of Israel and his denial of the Holocaust.
