A broad consensus has emerged among Israelis for a tough, uncompromising policy against the Palestinians, according to the latest Peace Index survey conducted by Tel Aviv University’s Tami Steinmetz Center. Among its findings, the survey found that 72 percent of Israeli Jews believe more military force should be used against the Palestinians, 71 percent expressed strong support for a blockade of cities under Palestinian Authority control, and 72 percent said the Palestinians still have not accepted Israel’s right to exist.
