A Center for the Research of Zionism and the Yishuv has been established at the Hebrew University. The new center is a joint project of the faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences at the university and will involve inter-disciplinary and interdepartmental activity in all areas connected with the history of Zionism and the yishuv (the pre-state Jewish community) in Eretz Israel, beginning with the 19th century.
