A championship mock trial team from a New Jersey Jewish school may not be able to compete in a national competition that falls on Shabbat. The New Jersey State Bar Foundation has asked the National Mock Trial organization to reschedule the competition, now set for May 5-7 in Charlotte, N.C., but the national group has refused, citing logistic problems.
