A cubist painting by Georges Braque hanging in the Pompidou Center in Paris may have been stolen by the Nazis from a prominent Jewish art collector, according to a French newspaper. The daily Le Monde said “The Guitar Player” and other important artworks seized by the Nazis had belonged to Alphonse Kann, who fled to London during the war and died in 1948.
