A demand for the resignation of the present Labor government because it is the “worst ministry of the century” is made by “Scrutator,” writing in the Sunday Times. He enumerates the failures of the government including the Palestine question “where sheer ineptitude and anarchy of departmentalism under a weak premier have exposed England to a charge of broken faith.”
Even without any Labor party leaders feeling as strongly on the Palestine situation as Stanley Baldwin, Austen Chamberlain, Lloyd George and General Smuts, ‘Scrutator” points out that parliament has the power to vindicate the national honor “even if the government escapes by probably throwing over Lord Passfield.”
