A European Commission report on terrorist recruitment singles out the media for naively portraying terrorists as oppressed. “Some media disseminate propaganda which contributes to violent radicalization,” said a report published last week by E.C. Vice President Franco Frattini, entitled “Terrorist Recruitment: Addressing the Factors Contributing to Violent Radicalization.”
