On behalf of the American Federation of Labor, President, William Green has cabled to British Labor Minister Ernest Bevin urging intervention with the Palestine Government for admission of some 1,700 Jewish refugees who have been barred from landing at Haifa, it was disclosed today.

The message said that the refugees came to Palestine by right and asked that they be admitted at least for the duration of the war. It added that efforts on behalf of the refugees would be appreciated by American labor and all friends of Britain. The cable was sent at the behest of a group of Jewish delegates to the A.F.L. convention who visited Green and placed the case before him.
