A final tally confirmed Mahmoud Abbas’ win in the Palestinian Authority presidential election. Campaign officials said Wednesday that Abbas, of the dominant Fatah faction, took 62.5 percent of votes in Sunday’s poll, up slightly from exit poll results. The runner-up was independent candidate Mustafa Barghouti, with 19.5 percent.
