A former Israeli defense minister convicted of sexual misconduct will be allowed to keep his reserve military rank. A special army committee decided Thursday against demoting Yitzhak Mordechai, who was found guilty in 2001 of twice molesting female subordinates — once as head of the Israeli army’s Northern Command and the second time as defense minister.
