A former senior scientist from Israel’s Dimona nuclear plant said the facility is unsafe and should be shut down. Professor Uzi Even told Israel Radio that Israel risks “serious damage” if it continues to use the reactor at current capacity. He said the reactor was initially designed to operate for 30 years, but has been functioning for nearly 40 years.
