A French Jew whose parents were deported to Auschwitz is suing the French government and the country’s national railway for his family’s suffering and property losses. Jean-Jacques Fraenkel charged that the deportation of French Jews during the war could not have been accomplished without the complicity of the Vichy government and the railway.
