A French presidential candidate condemned a Lebanese lawmaker’s comparison of Israel to Nazi Germany. Segolene Royal, who is on a Middle East tour to bolster her campaign to succeed President Jacques Chirac, described as “unacceptable, abominable and odious” the comments made to her in Beirut over the weekend by a Hezbollah lawmaker, who likened Israeli forces that recently invaded his country to the Nazi occupation of France during World War II.
