A gathering of Islamic scholars said the Palestinians have the right to wage war to liberate their homeland “from the river to the sea.” The conference in Qatar on the Palestinian question ended May 11 with support for the Hamas position that an Islamic state should supplant Israel, Ha’aretz reported. It recognized the “right” of the Palestinians “to wage holy war to regain all their homeland and liberate their land from the river to the sea.”
