A German Jewish leader rejected a new proposal for a national Holocaust memorial in Germany. Michael Friedman said the new plan, which envisioned a museum instead of a memorial, would be a “variety store” that “lacks content.” The proposal remains mired in controversy after more than a decade of discussion.
