A group of 30 Knesset members signed a petition to halt the construction of a massive highway project through Israel. The leaders of the initiative said the trans-Israel highway, slated to run from the Galilee to Beersheba, would be an ecological disaster as well as an unsuccessful answer to Israel’s transportation needs.
