A Holocaust survivor received the Israeli President’s Medal on Wednesday for founding a translation project of Holocaust-era documents. Israeli Joseph Karmin, 74, began translating documents and testimonials into Hebrew in 1995 when he learned of an archive of 7,000 documents put together by researchers in Warsaw.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
