A Holocaust survivor who works as a Dusseldorf theatrical agent was elected president of the German Jewish community. The election of Paul Spiegel, 62, by the nine-member executive board of the Central Council of Jews in Germany came after his predecessor, Ignatz Bubis, died last August.
