A Jewish leader in Strasbourg is to lay the foundation stone for the city’s grand mosque. Driss Avachour, president of the Strasbourg Grand Mosque Association, asked Pierre Levy, the Alsace region head of the CRIF umbrella organization of French Jews, to lay the stone at a ceremony on Friday, Levy told JTA.
