A Jewish man is the head of a 10-member team of lawyers representing Elian Gonzales, the 6-year-old Cuban boy who is the focus of an international tug-of- war. Attorney Spencer Eig, who is Orthodox, said in an interview with the Richmond, Va.-based Jewish News that in Jewish law “there is no such thing as parental rights. The sole determining factor in a case such as this is the best interests of the child.”
