A Jewish newspaper, Al Alam Al Israeli, published at Beirut, Syria, has been forbidden entry into Iraq. No reasons have been stated for the action. The paper is published in Arabic, but treats of Jewish affairs and has adopted a sympathetic policy to the new Iraq and the new king, and is said never to have attacked the Iraqian regime in any way. It is believed here, however, that its pro-Jewish Palestine policy may have been the cause for the ban.
However, Syrian and Palestinian Arab newspapers containing violent anti-Jewish articles are not prohibited from entering.
