Adolfo H. Kates, leader of Cuban Jewry, has been made a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor of France. He is the only Jew in Cuba upon whom this honor has been bestowed. Mr. Kates has also been decorated by other governments. He has served on the board of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce for more than 18 years.
