A new 35 million pound polyester plant will be built in the Haifa Bay area with an annual output of 12,000 tons, it was announced by the board of directors of the Haifa Petrochemical works. Most of the output is earmarked to replace imports from the United States and West Germany. The company also plans to expand its existing polyethylene plant.
