A new Yiddish theater company opened performances of its first play in New York last week. The Yiddish Public Theater’s production of Peretz Hirschbein’s “Grine Felder,” or “Green Fields,” focuses on a love affair between a city yeshiva boy and a country girl. Performances are slated to run for 12 weeks.
