A Palestinian Authority official said a possible unity government would recognize past peace deals with Israel. Saeb Erekat, an aide to P.A. President Mahmoud Abbas, said Tuesday that if the governing Hamas faction brings the more moderate Fatah into a unity coalition, former accords between the Palestine Liberation Organization and Israel would be honored.
