A Palestinian human rights group says the June civil war between Hamas and Fatah violated international law.
The fighting, which killed 161 Palestinians — including 41 civilians — “perpetrated grave breaches of the provisions of international law concerning internal armed conflicts,” according to a report released Tuesday by the Palestinian Center for Human Rights.
The report said the recent crimes were an extension of 15 months of Hamas-Fatah conflict. In some instances the victims were killed in hospitals, kidnapped and later murdered, and pushed off tall buildings.
It called for the formation of a national inquiry commission approved by the warring factions, and legal action against Palestinians guilty of war crimes.
