A PBS affiliate and the Washington-area Jewish federation have teamed to produce a series on Jewish American history. The three-part, six-hour series will begin airing Jan. 9 on the Washington PBS affiliate WETA. “The Jewish Americans,†directed by David Grubin, traces 350 years of Jewish American history from 1654 to the present day.
“The program’s themes of building community, enriching Jewish lives and strengthening Jewish identity all speak strongly to Federation’s mission of creating a vibrant Jewish world,†said Dr. Misha Galperin, the executive vice president and CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
