A Philadelphia court sentenced a Palestinian to a year in prison for lying on an immigration application about an Israeli conviction for membership in Hamas. A federal court handed down the sentence Sept. 8, but Atef Hasan Ismail Idais, 28, is likely to be released in the next few days because he has been in prison since his arrest on Sept. 9, 2004.
