A proposal to deploy troops of the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) in the disputed Taba region, was discussed by Israeli and Egyptian negotiators in Beersheba Monday. But the question of which country owns the 250-acre strip of beach along the Gulf of Aqaba was not taken up during the second of the three days of negotiations begun Sunday. Monday’s talks reportedly also did not take up possible arbitration or mediation of the dispute by third parties.
