A record 32,000 Israelis attended Reform synagogues during the recent holiday period, according to the Israel Movement for Progressive Judaism. The number represents an 18 percent increase over last year’s estimated attendance figures. The movement also said unprecedented coverage of the Reform and Conservative movements in the Israeli media this year boosted awareness among Israelis of liberal Jewish alternatives to Orthodoxy.
